In a backlash scenario of COVID-19 cases in Puerto Rico, this morning’s report from the Department of Health reported 1,519 positive cases of viruses and five additional deaths.
Of the additional 1,519 positives, 622 were confirmed by molecular testing, while 259 cases are positive for antigen testing and there are 638 positive for serological testing.
The dead, reported today, were three women and two men aged 73 to 87 years. In Puerto Rico, 2,126 people have already died from the new virus.
The total number of confirmed cases confirmed in Puerto Rico is 98,917. Of these, the recovered reach 95,908. The positivity rate is 10.9%.
The rise in infections is also being reflected in the number of hospitalizations that are now 250. Among these 250 people hospitalized are 22 pediatric cases. In the Intensive Care Unit there are 43 people and there are 27 connected to a fan.
According to data from the Department of Health, there are about 379,756 people on the island with the vaccination cycle completed.
The Scientific Coalition, appointed by Governor Pedro Pierluisi Urrutia, urged that more restrictive measures be taken in the face of the rise in COVID-19 cases on the Island. They warned that if nothing is done, by the end of April the island will be in its worst scenario since the start of the pandemic.
