PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The CDC has updated travel guides for people who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
In an updated post on its website, the agency says fully vaccinated people can travel safely to the United States without a COVID-19 test as long as they wear a mask and social distance.

This is news that many expected. A group of families at Pittsburgh International Airport said Friday they are vaccinated and are heading to Florida.
“Relieved, courtesy,” Cathy Wetzler of New York said.
The CDC said vaccinated people can travel to the United States without taking COVID-19 tests or quarantining them if they continue to take precautions, including masks and social distancing while traveling.
“We do our part, why not? The faster we do it together, the faster we can get over it, ”said Oscar Veneszee of Florida.
He was going to surprise his daughter, who had just finished training camp at Pensacola.

The CDC said fully vaccinated travelers are less likely to get and spread COVID-19, and can travel at “low risk” for themselves.
“It simply came to our notice then. I’m vaccinated, so I’m ready to start using it and start traveling again, ”said Kara Buncic of Canonsburg.

She and her husband were heading to Florida for a spring break. It has been a difficult 13 months, full of canceled trips, closures and quarantines.
“We had to cancel at least three holidays and a destination wedding was canceled in 2020 for us,” Buncic said.
“It was very frustrating. It looked like you were trapped. But we understand why they did it, to be sure, “said Sutfin.
Travelers are prepared for a good landing and some normalcy.
“We haven’t been able to do anything for over a year. So it’s good to know that we can all travel together and enjoy life again, ”said Wetzler.

The CDC said fully vaccinated people traveling internationally will not have to take COVID-19 tests before their trip, unless their destination requires it. Nor will they have to be quarantined if it is not mandatory where they live.
Vaccinated travelers must have a negative COVID-19 test before returning to the US
The CDC does not encourage travelers to be vaccinated and does not change its travel guidelines for unvaccinated people.

The agency said unvaccinated people traveling nationally or internationally should pass COVID-19 tests before and after the trips and be quarantined on return. The agency also follows them without non-essential trips.
