In order not to repeal the increase in tariffs for transportation, walkers and the Board of Fiscal Control (JCF) reached an agreement, Puerto Rico Truckers spokesman Leonardo Prim reported today, Sunday.
“In this negotiation we came to the understanding with the Board that they recognized, in the first place, that transportation to Puerto Rico was an essential service. This phrase has an important legal burden for us. They recognized that the temporary tariffs it had issued the transport business in December 2020 remained in force, “he told Delgado at a press conference.
For that reason, they canceled the unemployment that was scheduled for tomorrow, Monday.
Puerto Rican United Trucks spokesman Carlos Schettini warned last Thursday that he was going to see a halt until JCF gave up on disallowing transportation rates and recognizing approved fares in 2020. Unemployment had affected the supplies to the island.
