The next iPad Pro could arrive a few days after launch.
David Phelan
Another rumor points to the imminent arrival of the next iPad Pro this month, so it could be a few days away. Since there’s a consensus that this means new display technology and Apple’s fastest processor, that’s good news.
But, as TS Eliot wrote, “April is the cruelest month,” and if you’re part of the iPad mini’s design team, it may seem inappropriate to you, because the same advisor claims that the next iPad mini is not being released this month, after all. For the record, Eliot’s The Waste Land talks about deeper things, but it’s the best reference to April from the opening line of any poem from Chaucer, so I wanted to quote it.
Anyway, where were we?
Oh yeah, the advice comes from someone called Uncle Pan, who told Weibo that he had dreamed of the products that Apple would reveal at its “April conference” – not that this event was confirmed – and that he believes that the next iPad Pro will be revealed as scheduled. He also said that “the full-screen iPad mini is out of the game” and that the AirPods will also be upgraded. Learn more about this latest excerpt from Gordon Kelly here on Forbes.

The next iPad mini will have a new design and, if so, when?

Keep in mind that it is not just said that there will be no iPad mini this month, rather than if there will be a design similar to the current model instead of the rumored update of one with a larger screen that elides the home button in favor. of Face ID or Touch ID on the power button, like the latest iPad Air.
Still, I think, since the updated iPad mini, it’s been rumored for a long time that Apple won’t update its smaller tablet until it’s ready to drop the new model.
In this case, it looks like the iPad Pro will be the focus of this month’s presentation. I also rule out the possibility of an update to the incoming iPad, as Apple’s latest iPad, the eighth-generation model, is only six months old.
So it looks like we can expect an incredibly fast processor, called the A14X, which is likely to be a tight-fitting version of the A14 found in the latest iPhones and iPad Air. It is rumored that it will be as fast as the M1 chip of the latest MacBook Pro and MacBook Air, which will be pretty amazing.
The screen is likely to look dazzling, upgraded from LCD LED to miniLED in the larger 12.9-inch model, but stick to the normal screen of the 11-inch model.
As for when we should expect it, well, there has been a lot of confusion about it. Rumors about a March 23 event were completely turned off, though, as readers of my weekly AppleUnboxed newsletter will know, I analyzed this idea weeks ago.
So if you’re pushing me for an appointment, I guess Tuesday, April 13th or Wednesday, April 14th will be when the iPad Pro (and the AirPods and some accessories) are unveiled. At the latest, it could be next week, but I don’t think so.
After a while, then.
