The New York Yankees are finalizing an exchange to acquire boxing player Rougned Odor from the v, sources told Jeff Pass of ESPN.
The Rangers are expected to absorb nearly all of the $ 27 million due to Odor, sources said. He has $ 12 million this year, $ 12 million in 2022 and a $ 3 million exit purchase within a $ 13 million club option in 2023.
Odor spent the last seven seasons as the Vigilants ’starting second baseman, but an attempt to turn him into third base ended in odor failing to make the team’s roster for Opening Day.
Odor, 27, led Texas with 30 runs driven in 38 games during the 2020 season shortened by the pandemic and tied with Joey Gall with 10 homers, the team’s best. But Odor hit just 167, with seven of his 11 hits in September being homered, and struck out 47 times in 138 innings at bat. He hit 205 in a full 2019 season. In 858 games for the Rangers since his debut in 2014, he hit 237 with 146 homers and 458 RBIs.
