DORCHESTER (CBS) – As Bridget Colvin of Roxbury traveled on Twitter on Monday, he finished lunch and thought, “I’ll go see what happens,” he told WBZ-TV. “And I was able to get a dose.”
Colvin was one of dozens who saw a tweet alerting residents that the Russell Auditorium vaccination clinic on Talbot Street in Dorchester allowed out appointments throughout Monday.
The only requirements? Be over 18 and live in Dorchester, Roxbury, Mattapan or Randolph.

Colvin told WBZ that the line was about 90 minutes long, was well organized and showed people had a clear enthusiasm for getting vaccinated. “It was really exciting to see so many people queuing up,” he said. “He was over 18, but there was a wide variety of races and ages.”
Boston Medical Center, which runs the Russell Auditorium vaccination clinic, called the starting line a “mistake.”

Still, people like Bridget Colvin are grateful to have received a dose of the vaccine. “I originally thought we would be lucky if we got it at the end of the summer,” he said. “It simply came to our notice then. I want to see people who need it get it. “
All adults over the age of 16 will be eligible for the vaccine in Massachusetts beginning April 19th.
