A Texas mother accused of killing 1- and 6-year-old daughters

A Texas mother was accused of killing her two young daughters, according to a report, allegedly surrendering and confessing to the murders Monday night.

Madison McDonald, 30, allegedly told authorities she was sedating her children, 1-year-old daughter Lillian Mae McDonald and Archer Hammond, 6, before suffocating them to death, Fox reported. 4, citing police.

The Irving police department said McDonald’s entered its headquarters and used a lobby phone to call 911 to confess to the crimes.

The mother, who lives alone with her two daughters, told police her children were abused, according to an affidavit of arrest obtained by the dam.

As a result, McDonald said he would do anything to protect his children, including “eliminate them,” the affidavit said.

Police who responded to the McDonald’s apartment found the bodies of the victims.

The autopsy will determine the official causes of death of the girls.

“We’re trying to figure out why,” the mother allegedly killed her daughters, Irving police officer Robert Reeves said in the report.

“We may never know why because there will be no definition or reason to ever justify the murder of two young children,” Reeves said.

McDonald is charged with two counts of capital homicide, according to the report.
