The U.S. Bureau of Customs and Border Protection (CBP) reported Wednesday that it seized a shipment of 96 pounds (44 kilograms) of cocaine valued at $ 1.3 million in the port of San Juan. of a ship from the Dominican Republic.

CBP detailed in a press release that the drug was found inside a cooling fan in a container aboard the cargo ship M / V GH Pampero, which arrived at a dock in San Juan from the port of Rio Haina, in the Dominican Republic.

No one related to the drug shipment has been arrested.

According to CBP, a smuggling control team from his agency boarded the vessel for a routine inspection of the containers using non-intrusive inspection technology.

A container was additionally inspected, opening its container cooling ventilation access panel, where CBP officers discovered 41 brick-shaped objects, which later tested positive for cocaine. .
