Nvidia contraband cards were found after high-speed boat chase

Not more a week after a Chinese bust involving trap makers and luxury cars, authorities have confiscated hundreds of Nvidia contraband cards following a speedboat chase in waters near Hong Kong International Airport.

How Tom’s Hardware have translated, of Chinese output TVB news, over the weekend, police saw a fishing boat anchored suspiciously near the airport at 2 a.m. and, in the investigation, found men transporting the cargo from the fishing boat to a nearby speedboat.

As police approached “shady men jumped into the speedboat and drove away into inland waters,” with police chasing “a high-speed boat chase.” The smugglers managed to escape, but authorities withdrew and searched the fishing boat, where they found shark fins, smartphones and “up to 300 unidentified graphics cards.”

Although it bears no brand, it is believed that the cards are Nvidia CMP 30HX, GPUs made specifically for cryptomine which, while not very good at their job, are in great current demand as scarcity global affects the most desirable hardware supply.
