A few hours before the Real Madrid vs Barcelona Classic, and just before the premiere of the documentary ‘The legend of Sergio Ramos’, an preview of the chapters was announced in which the captain of the merengue group talks about the rivalry with Lionel Messi.
“We suffered at Messi during this time that, perhaps, if Barcelona had not had it and we had not had it before, I think we would have won more titles,” said Ramos in the aforementioned documentary.
The defender recalled Pep Guardiola’s games against Barcelona in which the Barça team maintained its hegemony over Madrid.
He considered that it was the “best Barcelona in history. We had a great coach like (Jose) Mourinho, but we had a hard time facing them. We didn’t win much and also because there was a tension generated by them or by us, ”he noted.
Ramos stressed that because there were important players in both teams in the Spanish team, it was difficult to deal with the rivalry when they were concentrated.
“I think we all made mistakes here and it’s still lucky that it took us to a more mature age. We solve it and fight for a unique team,” which in fact would be the champion of the Euro and the World Cup.
This Saturday, Real Madrid and Barcelona face off at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, in a key duel for the League, as while the Catalans are second at one point from Atlético de Madrid, the Merengues are three in third place.
Sergio Ramos will not play because he suffers an injury that has him inactive.
