Angelina Jolie discovered her facet as an action heroine with tapes like Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, Wanted or Mr. and Mrs. Smith, and the actress will return to this genre with “Those Who Want My Death.” Warner Bros. has released the trailer for the film, in which Jolie shows that she is still in top form.
In “Those Who Want My Death,” the actress plays Hannah Faber, a fire watchtower manager and survival expert who must protect a witness from a murder. The protagonist, who continues to suffer the loss of three lives she was unable to save in a fire, appears in the trailer watching when she sees a 12-year-old boy bleeding after his father has been attacked.
“My dad told me that if something happened, I would look for someone trustworthy. Are you trustworthy?” The boy asks, delighted by Finn Little. The little one is chased by two assassins played by Nicholas Hoult and Aidan Gillen and whom Jolie’s character will face in a tape that, judging by the advance, promises a lot of action.
Those Who Wish My Death is directed by Taylor Sheridan from a screenplay by Sheridan himself alongside Charles Leavitt and Michael Koryta, author of the book on which the film is based. The cast is completed by Jon Bernthal, Tyler Perry, Jake Weber, Tory Kittles, Lora Martinez-Cunningham and James Jordan, among others. The feature film will hit US theaters on May 14, 2021. The international premiere of the film is scheduled for May 7, 2021.
In addition to soon releasing Those Who Want My Death, Jolie will appear in The Eternals, a film from the Marvel Cinematic Universe in which she will play Thena, and Every Note Played, in which she will share plans with Christoph Waltz.
