Bitcoin-inspired cryptograffiti artist has announced the launch of an open source project aimed at facilitating bitcoin revenue for DJs and music producers with an accompanying public demonstration that includes a live DJ set held at the Mint from the United States to San Francisco.
“The ‘Attack Twice’ event is named after the new connector’s ability to automatically split micropayments into separate addresses,” according to an ad shared with Bitcoin Magazine. “If live viewers enjoy any of the tracks played during the event, they can send bitcoins tips to a static QR code that divides the payment based on the track being played at that time with a fixed percentage aimed at both the DJ and the producer of the song “.
Cryptograffiti, who is a DJ and also a visual artist, was motivated to launch the project after seeing an increase in live copyright removals during the COVID-19 pandemic. The project also has a non-fungible token (NFT) component, with visuals presented during the demonstration that will be released in an upcoming Bitcoin side chain market as NFT.
“People are focusing on banks, but activating Bitcoin for new revenue streams will rebalance power in all sorts of industries,” cryptograffiti said Bitcoin Magazine. “The digital economy is broken for musicians who make the pockets of third-party platforms while they have to take into account the arbitrary rules applied by robots. We need to look at different models that better support artists.”
