The Embassy of the United States in the country, reported that thanks to the donation of American Government the Judiciary of the Dominican Republic realizes a transformation of its technological platform, happening of a legacy or traditional system for the storage of data, to a modern digital environment.
According to a statement the system valued at $ 1,345,000 will allow the courts of the Supreme Court to digitize, store and share electronically and securely, the evidence and files of various cases, as needed.
“The technological systems will have 100 TB of digital storage, capacity for security creation and disaster recovery. Likewise, the support includes services for the installation, configuration of the equipment and the training of personnel that will be in charge. This effort is being made by the United States Government, through the International Bureau of Anti-Narcotics Affairs and the Attorney General’s Office (INL), in order to contribute to the advancement of a speedy judicial system. open and transparent in the country, ”the communication says.
The equipment awarded by INL by the Supreme Court of Justice consists of a primary data storage array system, a backup system, server control, interconnect switches, and replication server; and for secondary systems aimed at hybrid cloud control and management, servers, disaster recovery matrix, and interconnection controls.
The technology systems will be installed at the Caribbean Network Access Technology Center, NAP, located in Santo Domingo. The NAP serves as a repository of equipment and data, safeguarding their integrity, access to information is only by authorized staff of the SCJ.
The project, which begins in Santo Domingo in its first phase and then nationally, provides for a rigorous virtual training that will be carried out within one to five days, by an official and directed instructor, simultaneously, to 10 members of court technology staff. The training will include official certifications of the use of the entire range of servers covered by the system.
