The name of Joe Musgrove will be etched forever in the history of the San Diego Pares after the right-handed pitcher got his first game without a hit or race of all time for the California franchise this Friday.

They had to spend 8,205 games in 53 years of San Diego Padres baseball for the team to sign a game without a hit or a run, consummated with a role of Isiah Kiner-Falefa on the shortstop for the 3-0 win over the Texas Rangers in Arlington.

The only Rangers batter to pounce on Musgrove, 28, was Joey Gall, the product of a ball hit in the fourth inning. He struck out 10 batters.

Musgrove, which grew up in the San Diego area, he only won one game in 2020 playing for Pittsburgh and in his career totaled a 31-38 mark. But everything will be different from this Friday, April 9, as he is now a team historian.

The Parents are shaping up to challenge the Los Angeles Dodgers champions, who this Friday held their 2020 championship in front of their fans. They look like the two best teams in the National League, if not all of baseball.
