Migration initiates regularization plan for 115,000 Venezuelans living in the country

Dominican Republic.

The Directorate General of Migration (DGM) launched the plan to regularize 115,000 Venezuelan citizens residing in the Dominican Republic, illegally.

Venezuelans have exhausted a series of steps, starting with the filing of the required documents, remembering that they must provide an active email to receive any information and address from where you reside in the country, among other requirements.

Foreigners received details from Migration staff. on the legal procedures and filing of documents that must be carried out to begin their regularization process.

Pedro Peralta, who will be in charge of the process, explained that those interested can access the body’s digital platform, where they can find out about any concerns.

The opening ceremony was attended by the representative of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), Josue Gastelbondo, who said that this institution is an ally of the DGM Directorate, to accredit the organizations made up of Venezuelans and guide them where necessary.

He stressed that this international entity supports the implementation of this plan and for this it has offices in five provinces of the country, so that those who require information can receive them through this channel.

He also indicated that IOM will have 26 officials who will be working together with the DGM to support the process of helping Venezuelan citizens who are in the country in a state of illegality.

IOM in support of the DGM donated equipment and invested in personnel, as well as by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for issuing visas to Venezuelans and strengthening the eight civil society organizations of Venezuelans to obtain free guidance , as well as providing technological equipment and assistance to low-income families in this nation so that they can access a plan to regularize their status in the Dominican Republic.

Migration stressed that the beginning of this process fulfills the initiatives of President Luis Abinader so that the citizens of this nation have a legal status and can work and study in the country without problems.
