Wayne County launches more COVID-19 vaccine clinics to include more cities.
The Wayne County Department of Health extends the requirements for the COVID-19 vaccine to all residents and workers 16 years of age or older Ecorse, Inkster, Hamtramck, Highland Park, Melvindale, River Rouge, Romulus, Wayne, Lincoln Park, Dearborn Heights, Harper Woods, Westland, Belleville, Redford, Taylor, Dearborn and Flat Rock at Taylor and Livonia Clinics effective immediately.
Appointments are available by calling 1-866-610-3885. The toll-free number is managed in collaboration with The Heat and Warmth Fund (THAW).
The Wayne / THAW County Call Center will be open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Due to the high volume of calls expected, residents and workers are advised to be patient when trying to schedule an appointment and are asked to call back at different times of the day if they receive a busy signal.

Due to the limited supply of vaccines in the state of Michigan, the Wayne County Department of Health is scheduling for the first time appointments for residents and workers in the most vulnerable communities with the highest rate of social vulnerability (SVI). according to the calculation of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The County will announce appointment schedules for other communities as it operates through the list of prioritized communities. Wayne County Community Vaccine Programming Order
The order is determined based on the social vulnerability index. The number 1 is the best ranked SVI and the number 42 is the lowest SVI. Vaccine programming will increase from 1 to 42 (from highest to lowest). The City of Detroit maintains its own public health jurisdiction and is not included in this ranking. The SVI level for each community, according to CDC calculations, is shown in parentheses below. SVI ranges from 0 (lowest) to 1 (highest).
