Prince Charles makes an emotional first statement about Philip’s death

A Prince Charles, shaken by grief, made his first statement on Saturday about the loss of “my dear pope.”

“I particularly wanted to say that my father spent the last 70 years giving the most remarkable and dedicated service to the Queen, my family and the country, and also at home,” Charles said of the family as the eldest son. and heir to the throne a day after the death of Prince Philip at the age of 99.

“And as you can imagine, my family and I miss my father enormously,” Charles added, addressing reporters who had camped in front of his home in Gloucestershire.

“He was a much-loved and appreciated figure,” the untimely statement continued, speaking shortly after Buckingham Palace announced that Philip’s funeral will be held next Saturday and will be preceded by a moment of national silence.

Prince Harry will travel to the UK to attend the ceremony without his wife, Meghan Markle, expecting a baby girl in early summer.

“And, apart from anything else, I can imagine, we are so deeply moved by the amount of other people here and elsewhere in the world and community who share our loss and our grief,” he said.

“My dear Pope was a very special person who I think, above all, would have been surprised by the reaction and the touching things that have been said about him,” Charles said.

“And from this point of view, my family is deeply grateful for all this. It will keep us in this particular loss and in this particularly sad moment ”.

Speaking for the royal family, Charles has saved his mother, Queen Elizabeth, by doing so.

The queen is said to endure well – even “makes it amazing” – given the loss of her husband for 74 years, her daughter-in-law Sophie, Countess of Wessex, said on Saturday.
