For the second week in a row, Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) was the No. 1 target Saturday night live ‘s “Weekend Update”. And this time, anchor Colin Jost didn’t even bother to acknowledge his scandal-ridden appearance as a congressman.
“Well, our favorite Florida congressman, Matt Gaetz, has been in the news again, but this time it’s good!” Jost began. “I’m kidding, they’re still sex stuff.”
From there, Jost went straight to the explosive Daily Beast report that revealed that Gaetz was sending $ 900 to an accused sex trafficker, who then made payments in that exact amount to three different young women, claiming that it was for “enrollment” and “school”.
“Which, if true, would make him the only congressman to really help with student loans,” Jost joked. “At least Gaetz takes the accusations seriously. That’s why she spoke at the First Women for America Summit yesterday, which is a good change to see how women pay for an hour with Matt Gaetz. ”
Jost noted that his “favorite” part of Gaetz’s appearance was when the legislature noted how much “encouragement” he has received from Donald Trump, Marjorie Taylor Greene and Jim Jordan. “Oh, no, did you think they were good character references?
