The Political Committee of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) revealed this Sunday the seven members of the said organization, who have presented their intentions to run as pre-candidates for the Presidency of the Republic.
These are Gonzalo Castillo, Abel Martínez, Margarita Cedeño, Maritza Hernández, Francisco Domínguez Brito, Andrés Navarro and Carlos Amarante Baret.
However, PLD general secretary Charlie Mariotti explained that these are simply “aspirants to presidential pre-candidates” as the party’s statutes stipulate that pre-candidates must be approved through the Central Committee.
This information was shared at the conclusion of the Political Committee meeting, which lasted more than six hours.
On the issue of possible presidential candidacies, Mariotti said it was only addressed “succinctly.”
He also said that the list is not complete, as other people could join or even subtract.
“They’re not all they are nor are they all they are,” he expressed.
