Honduras, Guatemala and Mexico will militarize borders later in agreement with the United States

Texas, United States

The government of President Joe Biden announced on Monday that Honduras, Guatemala and Mexico will increase the presence of the military on its borders to curb the flow of migrants to the United States.

“The Biden government has secured agreements for Mexico, Honduras and Guatemala to place more troops on its own border to help stop the migratory flow,” said Tyler Moran, an immigration assistant with the National Policy Council.

“This will not only prevent traffickers, smugglers and cartels from taking advantage of children on the way here, but also to protect these children,” he told CNN.

The US official reported that Biden will address the situation at the border by prosecuting unaccompanied minors in a “safe manner” and addressing the reasons for migration to the United States.

“We’re addressing the reasons why people come from the region. That’s really important. If it’s just focusing on our border, it’s not addressing why people really come to our border. The president has a plan and he’s working with the vice president on that, ”Moran said.

Tyler Moran acknowledged that the Biden administration must invest in the Central American region to curb migration to the United States.
