
Monday Covid-19 regional report
Tuolumne County – Tuolumne Health Public reports four new cases of COVID since Friday, three identified on Saturday and one today. There are currently no hospitalized cases. The new cases are a boy aged 17 or under, a woman aged 18 to 29 and two women aged 60 to 69.
Tuolumne Health Public says:We anticipate that the state will change the criteria in the plan used to calculate the case rate that will apply to small counties this week. ”The updates will be released as soon as the change is announced.
Tuolumne County has a total of 4,056 cases divided between 2,640 community cases and 1,416 cases of Sierra Conservation Center (SCC) inmates, there are currently no active COVID-19 inmates in prison. The total number of community cases released from isolation is 2,572 and the total number of tests administered is 86,851. The county report lists 32,044 doses of vaccine administered in Tuolumne.
Tuolumne Public Health recommends getting vaccinated, wearing a mask, washing your hands, getting away physically, avoiding congestion and not going to work or school when you are sick, while providing layers of protection to each person, their loved ones and the community as in the county has less restrictive levels and more activities are opened up.
Calaveras County – The Calaveras public health report identified eight new COVID-19 cases since Friday, with a total of 2,041 cases in the county and an active number of cases decreased from one to 14 and a recovery of nine to 1,976. A COVID case resident in Calaveras is hospitalized. A total of 948 men, 1,074 women and 18 without gender were infected with COVID-19. The total number of people over the age of 65 identified with COVID is 444 since the pandemic began. Skulls reports 25,837 vaccines donated.
Butterfly County – Mariposa reported a new COVID case on Sunday, a 63-year-old man. A Mariposa resident is currently in the hospital with COVID. Mariposa has 6 active cases of COVID, 416 positive in total, including 79 cases of people over 65, 402 who have been recovered and 7 dead in total.
Vaccines – People must register on MyTurn at https://myturn.ca.gov to receive notifications from upcoming vaccination clinics and schedule appointments. You can also call 833-422-4255. The Tuolumne Public Health Clinic is scheduled for April 22ndnd is open for appointments via MyTurn, Calaveras Public Health has been using the system for over a month and Mariposa is also using it now. Public health notes until April 15th, appointments will be limited to eligible groups throughout the state: over 50, 16-64 years with health conditions and identified sectors until April 15th when eligibility will be open to anyone over the age of 16 (Pfizer), over the age of 18 (Moderna or Janssen). Tests: The Mother Lode Fairgrounds is open Sunday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., closed Friday and Saturday. The Groveland site is located at the Youth Center on Highway 18950 on Thursdays from 7:00 to 19:00. People can select the location of the site when they make an appointment at www.lhi.care/covidtesting or by calling 888-634-1123. State project to reopen: Level assignments will be updated on Tuesday afternoon. Tuolumne and Mariposa are currently at the Orange level, a less restrictive level than Calaveras, which is at the Red level. The state framework for the week ending March 27 for Tuolumne was 2.5 cases per 100,000 population down 3.3 cases and 1.2% of the positivity rate of Tuolumne the test, 1.6%. The Calaveras rate went from 7.1 to the case rate of 6.5 and to the test positivity rate of 4.1%, from 3%.
