Disney updates dress code for theme park employees to allow tattoos, hairstyles that include gender

ANAHEIM, California (KABC): When the Disneyland resort reopens on April 30, guests will see some changes designed to make everyone, including employees, feel more welcome and appreciated for their experiences and culture.

Disney has a long tradition of guest service with all four keys including safety, courtesy, showmanship and efficiency.

When the company asked Disney employees about how to better cultivate a culture of belonging, they suggested a fifth key: inclusion.

Disney brings the spirit of key inclusion to life with the reinvention of attractions such as the jungle cruise and Splash Mountain, which will become adventures with Princess Tiana.

One of the most important changes with the introduction of the fifth key is the updated policies that guide the way employees view work.

According to the Disney Parks blog, theme park employees will be allowed to dress in a way that best expresses their cultures and individuality. This includes allowing for appropriate hairstyles, jewelry, nail styles, costume options, and visible visible tattoos that include gender.
