Amazon today unveiled its second-generation Echo Buds with a 21% reduced design and improved active noise cancellation.
The second-generation Echo Buds introduces a white color option and it’s hard to see beyond the clear design directions Amazon has taken from the AirPods Pro charging case, which looks pretty much the same with an elongated design, a Unique centered LED and a long slot to open the lid.
Like the irAirPods Pro, the Echo Buds now have a ventilated design to reduce hearing pressure. There are also other improvements in comfort that have been made possible by reducing the size of each individual bud, such as a reduced ear tip and a reduced outer height for a cleaner fit.
Noise cancellation is said to be twice as good as the previous model and the outbreaks now feature an AirPods Pro-style sound switch mode. The sound quality has also been improved with an expanded dynamic range and higher bass and treble fidelity. The microphones are also improved for better call quality.
The second-generation Echo Buds are rated IPX4 for water and sweat resistance and the headphones can offer five hours of listening time with noise cancellation activated, with two additional charges in the case for a total of 15 hours. Like the original Echo Buds, the second-generation model includes integrated Alexa.
The Echo Buds come with four oval-shaped ear tips and optional two-size wing tips for a more secure fit.
The second-generation Echo Buds are priced at $ 119.99 with the standard USB-C charging case or $ 139.99 with the wireless charging case, and significantly lower the $ 249 price of the AirPods Pro . They will go on sale on May 13 and will be discounted for a limited time at $ 99.99 and $ 119.99.
