It will be tomorrow Friday and from Santiago dels Cavallers, when President Luis Abinader will give the picazo of the National Plan for Happy Family Housing (PNVFF) which will have an initial state investment of US $ 32 million, out of a total of $ 200 million in 4 years, and an estimated 460,000 direct and indirect jobs are generated in this period.
The president will be accompanied by presidential minister Lisandro Macarrulla and other officials at the start of what they have described as “the largest housing construction program in the nation’s history.”
While Abinader will preside over this act, other activities will be realized simultaneously in the Alcarrizos, Azua, Santo Domingo This, Higüey, New Cattle ranch, Lost Savannah, the Roman, Pedro Brand and San Pedro de Macorís, presided over by the provincial governors.
According to the Government, the plan includes the construction of 62 thousand homes in 4 years, directly impacting approximately 310 thousand citizens.
In the first phase, 11,000 homes will be built simultaneously in several locations in the country.
The Ministry of the Presidency directs the plan through the Residential Program of Intervention, Improvement and Production of Housing.
The PNVFF is a program of accessibility to decent and own housing, aimed at Dominican families in social segments with great difficulties in acquiring them, thus reducing the housing deficit, and ensuring safety, education and family health, in through the development of urban intervention processes.
It will bring about a positive change, dignifying the areas where people live, transforming crowded places into modern residential with better access and with the main basic services, commercial areas, infrastructures, among other facilities.
It will be developed through a process of public-private partnership, in which the state will provide citizens who apply, the resources that will allow access to funding through different types of grant vouchers that will help with bank payments.
The processing and selection of beneficiaries is carried out by the Housing Institute (INVI), through Progressant With Solidarity (PROSOLI), the Ministry of Women, with the support of the Single Beneficiary System (SIUBEN) and the Unit for the URBS Neighborhood and Environment Reorganization and financing via financial and cooperative institutions.
