Chicago police release a new video saying Adam Toledo was armed

Chicago police say the 13-year-old boy who was killed by police last month had a gun just before he was killed.

Video footage released by the CPD shows Adam Toledo running down an alley before asking him to stop and raise his hands, according to CBS 2 Chicago.

A grainy close-up of the seventh grader shows him holding what the police claim is a weapon in his right hand. Less than a second later, he was shot dead.

A haunting video from the body camera shows the entire March 29 incident.

“Police, stop, stop right now …” Officer Eric Stillman is heard saying as he chases the teen down an alley. “Mans. Show me your hands …

“Drop it, drop it,” the 34-year-old policeman shouts, before it is seen Toledo turn around and the policeman fires a single shot.

Police responded to reports of gunfire in the area when they encountered Toledo and another suspect.

Police have maintained that the Little Village incident was an armed confrontation and a gun was recovered.

Prosecutors had said Toledo was carrying a handgun, but backed the statement Thursday, saying the lawyer “was not fully informed” and that “the video speaks for itself,” the CBS affiliate reported.
