Kentucky went to the State of Volunteering to make commitments from talented twin brothers.
Surrounded by friends and family at Summit High School on the outskirts of Nashville, Destin Wade and Keaten Wade revealed they will be attending the University of Kentucky, picking up cats from Tennessee, Louisville and Virginia.
All brothers are considered four stars and are the top 300 possible. Keaten Wade is the 18th foreign defender of the country and the number 156 in the world. Destin Wade, a quarterback who amassed 1,509 running yards, 1,390 passing yards and 37 touchdowns combined as a junior, is ranked as ATH’s No. 23 in the country by rivals.
In recent years, the WildCats have had a couple of hotly contested battles with the Flights on the recruiting track and this is the biggest win in the UK. Steve Clinkscale was the Wades’ top recruiter. By offering the brothers their first scholarship offer, coach Clink prevented Josh Heupel’s staff from gaining momentum on the recruiting track.
Landing just one of these talented players would be significant. Receiving commitments from the two talented brothers, the Kentucky seven-man class climbed eight places to No. 18 in the Rivals team rankings.
Keaten Wade is an explosive defender who will thrive under the tutelage of Brad White. With 6 feet-5 and 225 pounds, Keaten can become a maker of differences at the SEC in Kentucky. His brother is not that big, but he does have a big arm. Whether in his pocket or on the run, Destin Wade has the tools to let him rip in Liam Coen’s offense, and his skill set is versatile enough to play a wide receiver or Mark Stoops ’defensive defense. .
It’s a great day for the Kentucky football show that could turn into a fantastic weekend if Kiyaunta Goodwin joins the Wade twins in the 2022 Wildcats recruiting class on Saturday afternoon.
