The 21.5-inch iMac, both in its offerings and in 4K and 4K, is experiencing a decrease in availability in Apple stores in the United States, with online ordering dates for the model that is not of 4K that are reduced by at least a week.
The vast majority of “Apple stores” are listing the standard 21.5-inch “iMac” as unavailable for collection. The high-end configuration with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of Fusion Drive storage is not available for full collection, but is available for delivery. Regardless of the settings, Apple lists at least five to seven business days for shipping estimates.
The high-end 21.5-inch iMac with 4K display also experiences a lack of availability in some stores across the country; however, it remains largely in stock. The larger 27-inch MiMac is still available normally.
Last month, Apple suspended two configurations of the standard 21.5-inch iMac, possibly giving way to new stocks. It is rumored that Apple is working on a new iMac design with a faster Apple silicon chip, but a specific release period is unknown.
Next week, Tuesday, April 20, Apple will hold its “Spring Loaded” event, where the new iPad Pros are expected to be announced. However, it remains to be seen whether or not the redesigned iMacs will debut at the event.
