Hilary Duff wanted her nine-year-old son Luca to see her give birth

Hilary Duff says she wanted her 9-year-old son Luca to witness her birth in the water so she could see “how strong women are and how childbirth is.”

Hilary Duff has revealed why she wanted her nine-year-old son Luca to witness the birth in the water at the home of a new daughter, Mae.

Star Younger, 33, who gave birth to Mae on March 24, made the revelation during an appearance on the Informed Pregnancy podcast.

It was a little important to me [for him to be there] because I am very open and sincere with him about how strong women are and the look of childbirth, ”Hilary told Dr. Elliott Berlin on Thursday.

“He knows the periods and it’s important for me to normalize this conversation with him for all the women who will be in his life.”

“I wanted to be there, but it happened so fast that I lost it,” said actress Cheaper By The Dozen.

Hilary also revealed that labor and delivery lasted more than three hours.

The actress explained that she wanted to dispel the idea that women are intrinsically weaker than men.

I think sometimes a nine-year-old guy says, “Well, men have bigger muscles” and, like, but we give life to this world. We move a baby around our body, ‘he said.

“There’s a big topic of conversation at home right now: equality and strength that comes from places other than muscles or whatever.”

Mae is Hilary’s third child. She shares Mae and Banks with her husband and singer-songwriter Matthew Koma, 33. Matthew and Hilary started dating in 2017 and made the knot in December 2019.

She was previously married to former professional hockey player Mike Comrie, who is Luca’s father. Canadian NHL star and cover girl Maxim got married in 2010 after three years of dating.

In February 2015, Duff filed for divorce, alleging an irreconcilable difference. The couple’s divorce ended a year later.

Hilary became a household name after getting the role of the title character in the hit Disney Channel series, Lizzie McGuire. The show premiered in 2001 and ended in 2004. The actress reprized her role in 2003 when she starred in The Lizzie McGuire Movie.

The former teen idol is also a singer-songwriter. He has released five albums, some of which were gold and platinum. Hilary met Matthew when they were working together on their fifth album Breathe In. Expires. in 2015.

To the delight of his fans, Duff announced in 2019 that he would once again be Lizzie McGuire in a rebirth of the series.

However, Disney + later dismissed the project, explaining that they were enduring the show “unless” they could meet fan expectations.

Hilary can be seen in the seventh and final season of the comedy-drama series Younger, which premiered Thursday on Paramount +.
