Seager’s HR gives victory to Dodgers in SD

SAN DIEGO – Corey Seager broke the tie on the board with a two-run fumble in Tim Hill’s first throw in the 12th inning and the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the San Diego Padres 11-6 in the first and entertaining duel of the season between two rivals of the Western Division of the National League with serious aspirations to the play-off.

It took 4 hours and 57 minutes to decide the winner of the game, which ended early on Saturday. The benches emptied when Dominican Dodgers reliever Dennis Santana hit compatriot Jorge Mateo with a shot that left runners in the corners with an out in the 10th episode. Trent Grisham received a ticket to fill the bases, but Santana poncho to Dominican Fernando Tatis Jr. and escaped compromise.

This was the first duel between the two teams since the Dodgers swept San Diego in the division series last year on their way to winning the World Series. The Parents responded by strengthening their rotation with the signings of Yu Darvish, Blake Snell and Joe Musgrove. Darvish and Snell are scheduled to pitch in the last two games of the three in the series.

Seager sent his second homer of the night into center field, with Mookie Betts at second base, after receiving the last out of the 11th. The Dodgers added 3 more goals in the episode, including a sacrifice fly from reliever David Price (1-0), who scored the win, who was caught by Musgrove, who came out to left field when the Fathers were left without relief.

Hill (0-2) charged with defeat after admitting zinc arrivals to the plate, three of them clean, and four hits in one inning and a third.

For the Parents, the Dominican Fernando Tatis Jr. of 6-1, with a scored and a tow. The curazoleño Jurickson Profar of 4-1, with two impelled ones. Puerto Rican Victor Caratini 2-0.
