The president of the Association of Teachers (AMPR), Víctor Manuel Bonilla Sánchez, reacted on Saturday to the withdrawal of the appointment of the Secretary of Education, Elba Aponte Sants.
“From the beginning we expressed that it was the job of the Senate to pass judgment on Professor Aponte and that we would respect the decision, because no matter who is in this chair our job as the exclusive representative of the magisterium will always be to inspect the secretary and protect the rights of our registration, “said Bonilla Sanchez in written statements.
“We are confident that the governor will choose a person who can establish a concrete plan of action in the short, medium and long term to meet the urgent needs of our education system and meet the great challenges we face; someone who is open to dialogue and “See us as collaborators, as we always have been. Our goal has always been to help improve the system for the benefit of our enrollment and our students who are our raison d’être,” added the president of AMPR .
Bonilla Sanchez replaced in the presidency to Aponte Saints when she was designated by the governor Pedro Pierluisi Urrutia for the position of secretary of Education.
Pierluisi withdrew the appointment of Elba Aponte Saints this Saturday, after Senate President Jose Luis Dalmau Santiago informed him that he did not have the votes to be confirmed.
