Most new polls want to end the judges ’appointments for life

Nearly two-thirds of all American adults surveyed in a new poll said they believe Supreme Court judges should face term limits and leave court after some time in the bank.

The Reuters / Ipsos poll conducted between April 15 and 16 found that only 22 percent of respondents supported lifelong appointments for Supreme Court judges, while 63 percent supported the terms of office. The rest had no opinion or were unsure.

While for many Americans the incorporation of new faces was important to many Americans, doing so without a vacancy on the track at their current size was not as popular. Only 38 percent said they supported the “judicial filing,” or expanding the size of the Supreme Court and adding more judges to the bank, while 42 percent opposed the idea. The remaining 20% were unsure.
