Eldest son of Scottie Pippen, Bulls legend, dies at 33 years old

The eldest son of Chicago Bulls legend Scottie Pippen died Sunday at the age of 33, the former player revealed on his Twitter profile.

“It breaks my heart to share that yesterday I said goodbye to my eldest son Antron. We both share a love of basketball and we had countless conversations about the game,” wrote Pippen, who played 17 seasons in the NBA and won six champion rings alongside Michael Jordan.

“Antron suffered from chronic asthma and if he hadn’t had it, I really think he would have made it to the NBA. However, he never let that discourage him: Antron stayed positive and worked hard, and I’m so proud of the man he will become, “continued 55-year-old Pippen.

Antron was born in 1987 and was the son of Karen McCollum, who married Scottie in 1988. The couple separated in 1990.

Pippen did not reveal the cause of death.

Antron played basketball at Texas A&M International University.
