Morrissey’s direction rips “The Simpsons” for his performance

Heaven knows, the unfortunate Morrissey now.

Representatives of the legendary 80s rocker have kicked off “The Simpsons” this week, after the singer mocked his indifference in the latest episode of the cartoon television classic.

The official social media of the famous mopey songsmith initially seemed delighted to be portrayed by Benedict Cumberbatch, and even shared a Smiths-themed preview poster for Sunday’s episode, “Panic in the Streets of Springfield.”

That changed quickly after watching the episode, which featured a Morrissey clone character named “Quilloughby,” who first impressed Lisa Simpson with her emotional and heartfelt lyrics, but then became greedy, litigious, overweight, and xenophobic. .

“Surprising what was ‘the worst’ that wrote The Simpson TV show in recent years,” read an attack on the singer’s official Facebook page, later attributed to his manager, Peter Katsis.

“Unfortunately, The Simpson’s show began by creating a great insight into the modern cultural experience, but has since degenerated into trying to take advantage of the cheap controversy and expose vicious rumors,” the online run continued.

Matt Groening’s team has “stopped creating” and “has become a racist and unscathedly injured,” the post of The Smiths’ former chief representative said.

“No wonder … the Simpsons viewer scores have dropped so badly over the last few years,” the publication smelled.

In the episode, Cumberbatch gave voice to “Quilloughby,” the former head of The Snuffs, a band that “dominated the 80’s indie scene with its brand of sardonic, literate music.”

After Lisa Simpson turned him into her imaginary friend, the singer – with the Morrissey badge and the Manchu accent – turned her into a militant vegan, with parodies of songs like “Meat is Murder” written by “Flight of the Conchords” star Bret McKenzie.

By the end of the episode, “Quilloughby” was fat and coming out of the shirt – Admitting at a long-awaited meeting of The Snuffs that it was a “taking of cash” to cover their legal expenses to sue people “for saying things about me that were completely true.”

He then sparked a riot by eating a pastrami sandwich and shooting sausages at the crowd, saying he stopped being vegan when he discovered he was “invented by foreigners.”

“And there are too many on this planet!” shouted the singer from the stage, while Lisa also turned against him.

“It’s true, I hate foreigners! Coming to this country and taking our jobs! Sleeping with our men! ”Shouted the cartoon character.

Morrissey, now 61, has long been haunted by accusations of racism since the early 1990s when he flirted with skinhead culture and nationalist images.

The ardent vegan – who tried unsuccessfully to ban meat in his 2015 Madison Square Garden show – called the Chinese a “subspecies” for the country’s animal treatment and insisted in a 2019 interview that “everyone he prefers his own race, ”said the Independent.

In a 2019 performance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon”, he sparked controversy by wearing a badge supporting the British far-right party “For Britain”, which calls for the “end of the Islamization of the UK”.

Facebook critics insisted, however, that “The Simpsons” portrayed him as racist just for “insulting the artist,” noting that the show has repeatedly faced claims of racism itself. The star’s management also reminded fans that Morrissey has never reformed The Smiths, despite overwhelming demand.

Still, his team seemed very upset by the “harshly hateful tactics” of showing him “with his belly hanging from his shirt (when he’s never been like that at any point in his career).”

Representatives of “The Simpsons” said the program had no comment.

But the attack will no doubt hurt the show’s director, Debbie Mahan, who described the episode as “love work” with her “expert Morrissey resident” husband.

“I have been working on this program for almost 20 years. And that, BY LIGHT, is the most fun I’ve ever had working on an episode, ”he wrote on Instagram late last week.
