The New York Yankees are pretty worried for its current time in the MLB season, as they have the worst start to the season since 1997 and are the worst team in the American League with a 5-10 record to date. While there is confidence that the current team can turn the situation around, the truth is that the injuries they have on the team play against them.
At a press conference, general manager Brian Cashman among many other things, has given updates on the injuries of three of his stars: reliever Zack Britton, Dominican opener Luis Severino, and starting baseman Luke Voit.
Cashman told MLB.com’s Bryan Hoch that Zack Britton will be eligible to return to the bullpen in late May, as will Luke Voit, who is expected to return to lineup and first base in the middle of the same month.
The case of Luis Severino is different, as he underwent surgery Tommy John, which has improved considerably and is expected to be able to open rotation in the summer, being between the months of June, July and August likely for his return.
