Julio Urías manages to defeat 11 sailors in the Dodgers

Julio Urías opened his 2021 campaign on April 4 with a seven-ticket gem at Coors Field, which was arguably the best start to his career. On Tuesday at T-Mobile Park, just three starts later, Uriah managed to outdo himself.

Facing the Mariners, Urías was in top form, getting 11 batters with a maximum run while working seven scoreless innings in a 1-0 Dodgers victory. It was the most outstanding starting point for a Dodgers starter so far this season and surpassed its all-time high again, achieved on April 18, 2019 in Milwaukee. These seven innings tied his season debut with the longest outing of his career.

An exceptionally sharp Urías caused 17 turns and failures during the season, nine of which reached his big curved ball, before coming out after throwing 88 throws (68 strokes). He only allowed two base runners: a walk to Kyle Lewis, the second hitter he faced, and a field goal to Mitch Haniger in the third. With an exit speed of 53.9 mph, Haniger’s solo was Uriah’s weakest ball and had an expected beat average of 0.060.

The Dodgers needed all that effort, as the recent fall of their offense extended into another game. They only got one run in two hits and four walks. In his last four games, Los Angeles has added eight runs.
