Betts offside LA after ball

It looks like Mookie Betts will avoid going through the injured list after X-rays on her right forearm throw negative. On Monday, Betts received a 95-mile-per-hour ball from Dominican Rafael Montero in the Dodgers’ 4-3 loss to the Mariners.

Betts was not in Tuesday’s game lineup in Seattle while he continues to receive treatment. Manager Dave Roberts said the patrolman arrived at the stadium “feeling great” but “sore” and has claimed that Betts could enter the game as an emerging runner.

“I just wanted to make sure my body was athletic and I felt good about it,” Roberts said. “I think he could come out as an emerging runner if the situation deserved it. It shouldn’t be a problem. I don’t know how he would react by throwing or beating.”

The Dodgers have Wednesday off, which gives Betts one more day to recover before starting a four-game series against the Padres at Dodger Stadium.
