MLB The Show 21 is, once again, a really a good sports game – next review – but there are some aspects that have been criticized since the launch. Road to the Show, the popular campaign for gamers in the series, which has taken place in Wealth, has been in the eye of the storm, especially in enthusiastic communities like Reddit. Fortunately, the Sony San Diego team has been monitoring the comments and has promised improvements.
Here’s the problem: the latest game unifies your Ballplayer’s progression between the aforementioned Road to the Show mode and the Diamond Dynasty card collection. This, in concept, is great because it means you can use the player created in both modes and keep progressing. Unfortunately, a number of issues have been introduced that were not presented in previous pounds.
The main thing is that progress is extremely slow, especially if you only play Road to the Show. According to Sony San Diego, this will be improved in an upcoming patch: “We’re fixing an issue where ball players aren’t making enough progress from Road to the Show training options and basic gains in a future update.” a blog post reads. It follows that the company will delete Archetype articles on Road to the Show.
Some had complained that they felt the series was pushing them towards microtransactions (we disagree, it’s definitely not NBA 2K21), but Sony San Diego has stressed that this is not their goal: “A Road to Player the Show should feel that they can progress freely by playing Road to the Show and only Road to the Show. Any participation in DD is purely optional and at no time should anyone feel that they need to earn income to advance in their Road to the Show career. “
Hopefully this can be fixed quickly, because the progression of the whole game feels pretty stingy overall this year that we feel. There’s no mention in the blog post about other Ballplayer-related issues, such as the fact that you can only have one, but it seems like the developer has his hands full with this set of changes.
