Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has added Dominique Thorne to her cast, the actress who will play Ironheart in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Previously, Thorne had been announced as Riri Williams of the MCU by the eponymous title of the hero Ironheart series coming to Disney +. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has confirmed to ComicBook.com that Thorne will make his MCU debut as Ironheart before the release of his eponymous series.

In the Marvel Comics universe, Riri Williams is a teenage engineering genius who designs her own version of an Iron Man costume. After his father’s death, he lives with his mother and aunt in Chicago. At age 15, she was accepted to MIT. There he builds his own version of an Iron Man-style armor. After using the armor to stop two runaway prisoners, Tony Stark approaches her and gives her the blessing to become a new armored hero, though there is no indication that Robert Downey Jr. or Tony Stark are part of the character. story in the MCU right now.
The character first appeared in cameo-shaped comics for 2016 Invincible Iron Man # 7. Shortly afterwards made a full appearance in Invincible Iron Man # 9. The head of Marvel Studios announced Thorne as Riri Wiliams during the Disney’s Investor Day meeting in December 2020. What role will Williams play? Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is unclear at this time.
Black Panther: Wakanda Foreveproduction recently began in Atlanta. Ryan Coogler returned to direct, after the great success of the first Black Panther 2018 film. After the passing of actor T’Challa, Chadwick Boseman, the original cast is expected, including Letitia Wright, Angela Bassett, Danai Gurira, Florence Kasumba, Daniel Kaluuya Winston Duke, Lupita Nyong’o and Martin Freeman, to be returning. Other cast members include Tenoch Huerta as Namor, in addition to roles for Marvel Comics characters Attuma and Namora.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will be Ironheart’s live debut. The character has appeared in animated programs included in Marvel Rising: Heart of Iron and the Spiderman. Spider-Man episode “Amazing Friends”. He has also appeared in Marvel Entertainment video games Marvel Puzzle Quest, Marvel Future Fight, Marvel Avengers Academy, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2, i Marvel Strike Force. She is one of the young heroes heading to the MCU, after the additions of Cassie Lang al Ant-Man films, Billy and Tommy Maximoff a WandaVision, Eli Bradley a He Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Kid Loki a Loki, and Yelena Belova a Black widow. Kate Bishop has yet to come Hawkeye and Kamala Khan a Mrs. Marvel.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is scheduled to hit theaters on July 8, 2022. Ironheart it doesn’t have a Disney + release date yet. Shang-Chi and the legend of the ten rings opens in theaters on September 3rd.
