According to data from the organization that brings together many employees in the sector to demand better working conditions, 2,669 health workers had contracted covid-19 until last June.

The United Physicians organization of Venezuela (MUV), which has reported since the beginning of the pandemic of the deaths of paramedics by covid-19 and of the poor conditions in which they work, he reported that as of last Tuesday, 722 health workers had died in Venezuela from this disease.

The MUV bases its reports “In clinical, epidemiological, radiodiagnostic and laboratory criteria up to date and are not necessarily included in the spokespersons’ reports.”

However, according to the latest figures released by the authorities, 3,748 people have died in Venezuela from covid-19, a disease of which 315,498 cases have been detected since the pandemic began, although 301,601 patients have they have recovered.

The data provided by the Executive are questioned by various health sectors and by the opposition, who denounce that the figures for contagion and vaccination against covid-19 they are manipulated.

Professionals have complained from the outset that they do not have adequate equipment to protect themselves and that the number of paramedics in hospitals is not enough to care for the system.
