The famous Cuban actor Enrique Molina is ill with coronavirus, his son Pável Molina Ruiz announced on social media.
“I ask everyone for a prayer for this great man, of smile and unique soul,” Molina Ruiz wrote on her Facebook wall.
“Forces champion. Dale, you can do anything. Make fun of the damn COVID and end it. Here are your children and half the world who adores you, asking for you. You’re not alone. We know you’ll get out of this “I love you Dad. We all love you,” he added.
Hours later, Pavel posted another post in which he thanked the supportive reactions and warned that his father had become “a little calmer during the day, but still in therapy with his oxygen instead.”
“I have my phone overflowing with love for my father and my family, on all 4 sides. I have no way to be thankful. The least I can say to everyone who is in the front row in this battle, is Thank you.” he wrote.
Molina, who was born in Santiago de Cuba in 1943, is a prominent film, theater and television actor with an extensive artistic and professional career. He holds, among other laurels and distinctions, the honorary title in the First Edition of the Enric Almirall Prize in 2015 and is Artist of Merit of the Cuban Institute of Radio and Television.
Its artistic race begins in 1963, when Integra to a group of fans of the Gastronomic Union. In 1964 he became part of the Oriental Drama Ensemble, a key group in his training as an actor. In 1968 he began making television for Tele-Rebel until 1970 when he returned to Havana. The actor is also famous for his characterizations. In addition to playing Lenin in the play The Kremlin carillon and in the television miniseries Stories about Lenin, Played the Cuban procurator José Martí in the series directed by Lilian Llerena for Cuban TV in the 90s. he had to undergo seven surgeries.
In July of the year 2020 his many-year-old wife, Elsa Ruiz, died. Months later, at the reception of the National Television Award 2020, he dedicated some emotional words to his life partner.
The couple’s son, Pável, a former bassist of the Cuban group Los Van Van, currently lives outside Cuba and has expressed on social media his fear that the Cuban authorities will not allow him to return to the island for his statements against of government.
Just a few days ago, he wrote on his Facebook wall: “Here I am giving my name and my face, using my official profile to publicly denounce the Cuban dictatorship for so much ill-treatment and so much oppression and repression for more than 60 years in a defenseless and noble people, as is our people in Cuba. “
