After a leak last night Razer, of all places, Bungie has confirmed what the announcement revealed for life-too soon, season 15 of Destiny 2 is called Season of the Lost and will focus on Mara Sov’s return to the City of Dreams, which it will probably break the curse that Savathun has. put in it.
Bungie today confirmed the name of the season and the return of Mara Sov in a teaser. I’m told a teaser was always planned for the season and that didn’t respond to the leak. So you can now start seeing these ads that are legitimately appearing everywhere. I also feel like there is something … that will come later today.
It should also be noted that Osiris is in this first image of the season, Osiris was last charged with a war crime helping Lakshmi-2 to let Vex into the city, and a common theory is that Osiris is Savathun who he wears the skin of the old wizard. , and is dead or imprisoned somewhere. Will Mara achieve this? So far no one else seems to mind, but all signs point in that direction.
The return of Mara Sov is not exactly a shock, since in Season of the Chosen we received an audio message telling her directly that she would return. The only real question was whether it would be in season 15 or for The Witch Queen, and now we have our answer.
It also seemed likely that the new season will focus on the City of Dreams, given the seasonal artifacts we saw with so many ways to stop the unstoppable champions, which are Hive and Taken, the two main races found in this area (plus the Scorn , which I have no champions).

We don’t know of any other details about the season beyond all the TWAB teasing that focuses primarily on subclass sandboxes, armor, and weapons. All the new weapons have been hidden except the ritual, but it seems likely that they have a Dreaming City style and that any new seasonal event there will take place within that area.
I’m not sure what Season of the Lost is all about, as unlike Splicer, it’s pretty nebulous what that might mean. Is Mara lost? Does it refer to your lost brother, reborn as a new person? Is the whole Awoken race lost? I do not know.
Still, that’s more than we knew, as literally nothing of the content of the season’s story had been previewed before. It will be fully revealed on Tuesday, August 24 during the Queen of Witches showcase that airs just before the season begins. It seems like Bungie wants us to mostly find out what’s happening to us, and that’s similar to the launch of the arrivals season, which was also revealed mostly on the day along with an expansion.
Anyway, exciting and joyful times to see Mara return. There seems to be more to come, a bit today, but almost everything condensed next Tuesday.
