When 1.6 lakh doses of Covid-19 vaccine arrive in Mumbai, it will resume on Saturday: BMC | Mumbai News

MUMBAI: Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has said that vaccination against Covid-19 will resume in Mumbai’s civic and governmental centers as of Saturday as new stocks of more than 1.6 lakh had arrived.
In a statement issued Friday, the BMC said Thursday night 1,60,240 vaccine doses arrived, including 1.5 lakh Covishield and 10,240 Covaxin vaccines.
The civic body had suspended inoculation for two days on Thursday and Friday after the centers run by the civic body and the state government ran out of doses.
He also had to suspend the unit on July 8 and 9 for the same reason.
According to the BMC, so far 82,43,789 people have been given vaccines in the metropolis, and 20,883,893 beneficiaries have also received the second dose.
There are currently 438 Covid-19 vaccination centers in Mumbai, of which 296 are operated by the BMC, 19 by the state government and 123 by private entities.
