SANTA ANA, California (KABC) – Orange County’s John Wayne Airport was blocked Friday night due to a security breach, which stopped all air traffic in the area.
The rape was possibly related to a vehicle stolen from airport properties and a suspect at large.
The blockade prevented the take-off of aircraft and several liners could be seen on the runway. Airport passengers appeared to be sitting on the sidewalk as they waited for the lock to be lifted.
An Orange County Sheriff’s Department helicopter was also gliding over the runways.
A police dog was also brought in to help search the terminal area.
