Head injuries update after preseason 2nd week against Cardinals

The Kansas City Chiefs completed their second-week preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals with their second preseason win. They also managed to get through the game with just a few injuries.

A few players left the match with injuries, but the team did not formally announce them during the match. Clyde Edwards-Helaire left the game pretty soon because of what Andy Reid called a “slight” ankle sprain. He remained on the sidelines, which also suggests that the injury is minor in nature and not the dreaded high ankle sprain. Rashad Fenton left the match with what Reid called a “tight” hamstring.

Darrel Williams was the only player to leave the game with a formal announcement from the team. He was withdrawn from the game to be evaluated for a concussion. While the veteran runner never returned to the game, the team never formally ruled him out either, suggesting he removed the NFL concussion protocol.

With Williams offside, the team had an extensive look at Jerick McKinnon, Darwin Thompson and Derrick Gore.

The only question about injuries everyone had at the start of the game was about Tyreek Hill. The wide receiver veteran remained due to a hamstring injury. He also adapted to the side and apparently tried the game before the curve, which would suggest that it is something of a minor nature.

In general, news of injuries is worse than last week, but none of those injuries seem to keep players out of action for long.
