THOUSAND OAKS, California – The Los Angeles Rams have placed bettors Johnny Hekker and Corey Bojorquez on the reserve list / COVID-19, the team announced Saturday.
That leaves the Rams without a player on the roster for a Week 2 preseason game against the Las Vegas Raiders on Saturday night at SoFi Stadium.
The Rams did not immediately announce who could serve as a reserve pointer.
For the fourth year in a row, Rams coach Sean McVay has opted not to play headlines in the preseason action, and this year he has taken it a step further, also resting several key reserves.
Quarterbacks Matthew Stafford and high school John Wolford will not play against Las Vegas.
It is possible that McVay could try the fourth functions of quarterbacks Bryce Perkins and Devlin Hodges without any pointers.
Bojorquez, a fourth-year professional signed during the offseason, has been challenging the four-time All-Pro Hekker to get the position.
They both bet twice on a 13-6 loss in the preseason against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 1. Hekker averaged 45.5 yards per point and Bojorquez averaged 43.
