President Luis Abinader, along with his main ministers, started the first Governing Council in the province of Valverde, where he listens to the main community leaders and representatives of the business sector in the area.
Abinader, in initiating the conversation with community leaders from all over the Northwest line, said they hope that each of those present can sincerely explain the main ills of the region.
The meeting takes place in the multipurpose room of the Autonomous University of Sants Domingo (UASD).
The president has an agenda this weekend for the provinces of Valverde, Santiago Rodríguez, Jaume and Port Plata.
Among the issues to be addressed to coordinate the promotion of the region are the production and distribution of electricity as well as the development strategy of the Bay of Manzanillo, Montecristi province.
Also, health and housing issues will be addressed, the latter presenting the impact of the Dominican Reconstruct program.
Likewise, the agricultural production, the contribution of the region to the national finances and the development of infrastructures for the improvement of the roads and the waters.
