According to an authorized statement by their son Jonathan Jackson on Saturday, the couple are currently in Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.
“Currently, doctors are monitoring the condition of both. Anyone who has been around them for the past five or six days should follow CDC guidelines,” the statement said.
“No more updates at this time. We will provide them as they become available.” continued the statement.

Jackson Sr., 79, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in November 2017.
Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot and Congressman Bobby Rush posted their wishes and prayers for the Jacksons.
Mrs. Jackson is 77 years old.
The Reverend was fully vaccinated in January at Roseland Community Hospital.
According to the CDC, the risk of serious COVID-19 disease increases with age.
Dr. Zachary Rubin with Oak Brook allergists said the vaccine helps reduce the risk of serious illness.
“I think the results could have been much worse if I hadn’t been vaccinated,” Rubin said.
Illinois doctors are concerned about a growing number of hospitalizations for COVID-19.
In early August, the Illinois Department of Public Health reported that there were 977 patients in state hospitals, but now that number has more than doubled.
Statewide, only 18% of ICU beds are available.
“It’s almost as contagious as chickenpox. So we have to vaccinate so many people to reduce transmission,” Rubin said.
