The Cuban kept the Filipino at a distance and punished him with his right hand to retain the CMB welterweight championship
the Cuban Yordenis Ugás gave the patacada of the year by defeating the Filipino this Saturday Manny Pacquiao at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Ugás took advantage of his stature to keep his distance from the Filipino and punished him all night with his right hand for wearing the veteran Weather in Pacquiao throughout the 12 rounds and beat it by unanimous decision to retain the welterweight title from the World Boxing Association.
After an even start of combat, Ugás began to seize the ring from the seventh round, being more effective with his fists in front of a Weather in Pacquiao which maintained a high pace with its volume of blows, but most of these landed in the Cuban’s defense.
In the end the judges gave favorable cards –115-113 and two 116-112– per Ugás, Who improved his record to 27-4 with 12 knockouts while Weather in Pacquiao stagnated at 62-8-2 with 39 chloroforms.
this is one of the most important victories in the history of professional Cuban boxing and allows a Ugás retain his AMB welterweight championship, denying him a Weather in Pacquiao, 42-year-old, the opportunity to retrieve the scepter and become the most veteran to wear the belt.
