Update: The Destiny 2 Showcase has now confirmed all the details listed below and has unveiled the trailer for the expansion of The Witch Queen. In fact, it will be released on PS5 and PS4 on February 22, 2021 and pre-orders will be available in the PS store soon.
Original story: Bungie is expected to unveil the next big expansion to Destiny 2 later today, but a new one PlayStation Store it looks like the list has ruined the party for the developer. As seen in True Trophies, a product from the Australian PS Store lists the DLC for The Witch Queen as a release on February 22, 2022. We’ll have to wait until later the day of the official trailer, but the list reveals that the expansion will house a new location to explore and “the ultimate Destiny campaign.”
The description goes on to explain how Guardians “will enter the world of Savathûn’s throne to discover the mystery of how she and her hive Lucent stole the light. Learn the secrets to crafting new weapons, the new Glaive and surviving the truth within their web of lies “. The new location will include areas such as the antagonist’s palace, as well as a swamp, but another addition will be a new type of weapon.
“Master the new type of Glaive weapon and unleash powerful melee combos, projectile attacks, and a drop-down energy shield,” the PS Store listing reads. The Destiny 2 showcase, where all this information and more will be revealed, is scheduled to take place later today at 9:00 PT / 12:00 ET / 17:00 BST.
