“Ohhhhhhhhhh!”

At the top of the sixth inning of your standard 1-1 game between the New York Yankees and the Atlanta Braves, it was scheduled to begin, Truist Park fans moaning collectively.

It wasn’t because of Austin Riley’s 14th error this season, nor was it his team that missed an opportunity for their tenth straight win, though that happened later in the inning. It was because a fan, once again given the classic head ahead of The Freeze, had a chance to beat him in the famous warning track race … right in front of the goal.

It looked like the fan was getting tired towards the end, even with a clear long lead. People noticeably increased a few decibels in anticipation of the possible annoying victory as the fan closed out the victory. And then, once Coca-Cola’s sponsorship was over, it was as if her legs hadn’t run until now. longgggggggg before the pandemic, and they simply hesitated him, which caused a collapse like the empire of Felix Gallardo Narcos: Mexico. And it’s not like The Freeze has done it May lost before, but rarely does. This race is supposed to last like many of these.

It was, like Athletic’s Twitter title lists, “mooolt close …” It’s fair to wonder if it should have been, though. This was not the first time I was a fan it should have won and he ate dirt just before the tape. Hopefully The Freeze doesn’t just wash up, because he can’t be here losing in front of guys who look like audio engineers in a New York City podcast studio. Also, is the Freeze allowed to show up later? Because it looked like he would lose less that last second fall.

Anyway, yes, in terms of the game, the Yankees won 5-1. But the Braves are still 4.5 games away from Philadelphia Phillies ’second-place finish in the uninspired NL East, so what does it matter?
